Tesla has started delivering its latest EVs featuring the latest tech. The first deliveries of Tesla’s flagship Model X are now equipped with the “Phoenix” HD radar, Hardware 4 (HW4) computer, and an upcoming FSD software update. Jason Clinton, a customer in the US, recently received his 2023 Tesla Model X Plaid and shared images of the car on Reddit.
The car has a build date of February 25 and was delivered within two weeks, showing how quickly Tesla can deliver cars in the US. The Tesla Service Advisor also confirmed that the vehicle is equipped with HW4 and showed the internal inventory system screen to verify this.
The car also features several changes compared to previous Model S and Model X deliveries, such as the “Autopilot Hardware: None” screen. The vehicle cameras have a red tint to them, indicating that they are upgraded cameras, and there are also heating elements for the front-facing windscreen cameras.
These features are good news for what’s to come in Tesla’s upcoming Model 3 upgrade and potential Model Y one as well. Tesla’s Plaidium range of vehicles come with dual or tri-motor setup, offering up to 1,020 HP or 760 kW. The top speed is limited to 262 km/hr and the cars can out drag most Lamborghinis and Ferraris, highlighting the technological superiority of electric drivetrains. All Plaidium vehicles also come with a 100 kWh battery pack that can fast charge at over 250 kW.
Safety regulators such as Euro NCAP have tested Tesla’s vision-based Autopilot system and found it to be the safest. We look forward to seeing these improvements in person when right-hand-drive vehicles arrive in Australia in the next 12 months.
