Foxconn and Monarch Tractor have joined forces to revolutionize the agricultural industry with the launch of the Monarch MK-V, the world’s first fully electric, driver-optional smart tractor. The MK-V is the result of a contract manufacturing agreement (CMA) between Foxconn and Monarch Tractor, and the first five tractors rolled off the production line this week.
The MK-V is designed to reduce farmers’ carbon footprints, improve field safety, streamline farming operations, and increase their bottom lines. It features a 52 kW motor that can run for 14 hours on a single charge, as well as collision prevention, human detection, and power take-off (PTO) protection. If the tractor detects a human within six feet of it, it will stop moving, and the PTO will automatically shut off if the system detects a person within one foot of the PTO.
Mark Schwager, co-founder of Monarch Tractors, said: “We’re sold out for the majority of this year, and we’re scaling up here, pretty, pretty significantly over the next couple of months.” Fellow co-founder Carlo Mondavi added: “We’re independent. We’re able to help get into the energy business and we’re able to help protect our planet while we migrate away from fossil fuels.”
The Monarch MK-V is a major step forward in sustainable agriculture and is expected to have a significant impact on the industry. Foxconn and Monarch Tractor are leading the way in providing clean, efficient, and economically viable solutions for today’s farmers and future generations.
