Kaptyn, a rideshare company based in Los Angeles, has been using Zeem Solutions’ fleet-as-a-service solution since November 2022. This solution has enabled Kaptyn to operate a fleet of Tesla Model Ys at a lower cost than owning and operating a gas or diesel fleet. Zeem’s depot near LAX provides on-site charging, parking, security, scheduled maintenance and cleaning services, allowing Kaptyn to save on personnel costs and time.
Kaptyn started with six Teslas and is on track to expand its operations to include 50 EVs by this summer. Drivers arrive at Zeem’s depot at the beginning of their shifts, pick up a charged Model Y, perform their five- to seven-hour shift, and return the vehicle to the depot. Kaptyn’s vehicles are often deployed for two shifts per day, so access to Zeem’s DC fast charging increases efficiency and vehicle utilization.
Paul Gioupis, co-founder and CEO of Zeem Solutions, said, “We love that Kaptyn is committed to providing a white-glove experience with their customers while using high-end electric vehicles, and they are incredibly good at it. We’re pleased to provide fast, secure and reliable EV charging at our LAX depot for customers like Kaptyn, providing them an opportunity to scale at all of our future depots across the country.”
Kaptyn CEO Andrew Meyers added, “Our partnership with Zeem is making large-scale zero emission fleet operations incredibly simple, enabling us to quickly and efficiently stand up operations in the LA market. Zeem’s location is very beneficial because so many Kaptyn customer trips start less than a mile from the depot at LAX.”
