Colorado Teardrops, an American camper trailer manufacturer, has astounded the world with the launch of its innovative new trailer designed exclusively for electric vehicles. Dubbed The Boulder, this teardrop camper stands apart with its electrifying features that are sure to leave you spellbound.
At 12 feet, this camper packs a powerful punch with its embedded 75 kilowatt-hours battery pack that is housed in a powder-coated steel frame. As you camp, you can recharge your electric vehicle’s battery, and The Boulder itself can accept DC fast charging. The camper’s weight is rated at a surprisingly light 2,200 pounds, which is a stark contrast to the conventional battery-less Mount Massive trailer from Colorado Teardrops, which weighs 1,470 lbs.
Adding to its already impressive features, the company boasts that The Boulder acts as a “Powerwall on wheels,” providing energy not only to your electric vehicle but also to your home, thereby qualifying for a federal tax credit of approximately $12,000 under the Inflation Reduction Act.
The interior of The Boulder is designed to provide a comfortable living experience for up to four people, with a fully insulated cabin that features a seating arrangement that can be converted into a queen-size bed and two bunk beds. The body of the trailer measures 150 inches in length, with an overall length of 195 inches, and a cabin width of 60 inches.
Crafted with aircraft-grade aluminum, this camper is also furnished with hardwood and has several 110-volt electrical outlets scattered throughout the interior. The starting price for The Boulder is $67,000, and there are various options that you can choose to customize your build, such as a 2,000-watt air conditioning unit for $3,250, a propane heater for $2,000, and a water tank with hand pump for $650.
With development still in progress, Colorado Teardrops has already completed its first prototype for The Boulder and has two more exciting models in the pipeline – The Golden, a 17-foot luxury travel trailer with a 125-kWh battery pack, and The Denver, a 27-foot long trailer with 200 kWh of supplemental power.
